About the Conference

The International Paper Conference gathers professionals and experts from various sectors of society

specifically those who are engaged in education, culture, business, industry, government, science,

information and technology among others who have the passion and the will to make the world a

better place to live in. The conference has six specific goals:

1. Disseminate relevant information about the prevailing conditions of indigenous peoples,

especially the current state of their tangible and intangible cultural heritages;

2. Gain insights as to how these cultural heritages (both tangible and intangible) could become

vital factors in cultural identity, promotion of creativity and the preservation of cultural diversity

through collaborative works from private – public partnerships and governmental and nongovernmental


3. Highlight the essential role(s) of higher educational institutions, indigenous peoples

organization and cultural agencies in national and international development, via tolerance and

harmonious interaction between cultures in the era of modernity and globalization;

4. Revitalize the synergy of all sectors in promoting social accountability and responsibility;

5. Disseminate researches that are useful for societal development; and

6. Publish peer-reviewed and selected full papers in a refereed journal to promote the indigenous

peoples’ tangible and intangible cultural heritages.


Date and Venue

The paper conference will be held at the Sacred Heart Center of Saint Mary’s University,

Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. The conference will commence on May 2, 2018, (day 1,

Wednesday) and in Bontoc (day 2, Thursday), and will end on May 4, 2018 (day 3, Friday), at 5:00

pm. The Cultural Heritage Tour will be on the third day from Sagada-Bontoc-Banaue en-route to SMU
